What Is Haryana Roadways Live Tracking?
Haryana Roadways live tracking lets passengers see the exact GPS location of any HRTC bus on an interactive map — in real time, without needing an app or login. The system works by reading position data from the ETIM (Electronic Ticketing Machine) devices fitted on HRTC buses, which transmit GPS coordinates to the official HR Transport monitoring server every few seconds.
This website fetches that data directly from the government API and displays it on a Leaflet.js map, refreshed automatically every 20 seconds — the same interval used in the official HR Roadways Bus Timetable app. Every bus marker on the map shows the route name, depot, last recorded speed, and the exact time of the last GPS fix, so you always know how current the position is.
Whether you're waiting at a bus stop in Rohtak, Hisar, Ambala, Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, Sonipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Sirsa, Bhiwani, or any other Haryana city — you can check if your bus is on its way before stepping out of the house.

About Haryana Roadways (HRTC)
Haryana Roadways, officially the Haryana State Transport (HST), is the state-run public bus service of Haryana, India. Established after the bifurcation of Punjab in 1966, it operates under the Haryana Government's Transport Department and is one of the largest state bus services in northern India.
The fleet includes ordinary buses, express buses, super-express buses, and air-conditioned Volvo coaches. In recent years, HRTC has added electric buses (e-buses) on select urban corridors, part of the Government of India's FAME scheme. The corporation employs over 20,000 staff across drivers, conductors, mechanics, and administrative personnel.
What Is the ETIM System?
The ETIM (Electronic Ticketing Machine) is a handheld GPS-enabled device used by HRTC bus conductors to issue digital tickets. Beyond ticketing, each ETIM continuously transmits the bus's GPS latitude/longitude, speed, heading, and status to the centralized HR Transport monitoring server at afc.hrtransport.gov.in. This is the same data feed that powers the live map on this page.
The system enables real-time fleet monitoring by the state government, helps with punctuality tracking, and provides the live location data that passengers use to plan their journeys. Each ETIM device is linked to a specific bus code and depot, which is why the popup on the map shows the depot name alongside the route.
Tips for Using HRTC Live Tracking
Haryana Roadways Live Tracking — Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about HRTC GPS bus tracking.
-
Use the interactive GPS map at the top of this page. It shows real-time positions of HRTC buses, refreshed every 20 seconds. Use the search box to find your route or bus number, and use the filter buttons to see only running buses. Tap 📍 My Location to find buses nearest to you.
-
All HRTC buses fitted with an active ETIM (Electronic Ticketing Machine) device are tracked. HRTC has been rolling out ETIMs across its fleet of 4,000+ buses. Buses that appear on the live map are those currently transmitting GPS data. The number of visible buses changes throughout the day based on active services.
-
The map refreshes automatically every 20 seconds — no need to reload. You can also tap ↺ Refresh in the status bar for an immediate update. The "Secs ago" counter in the header counts up from the last successful data fetch.
-
🟢 Green = the bus is running (in motion or recently active). ⚫ Grey = the bus is stopped or parked. Tap any marker to see the exact last GPS timestamp — this tells you how recently the bus reported its position.
-
Possible reasons: (1) The bus doesn't have an active ETIM device, or the device is offline. (2) It's late night when fewer buses are operating. (3) The HR Transport government server is temporarily unavailable — a yellow warning banner will appear at the top of the map in that case. Try refreshing after 2–3 minutes.
-
Yes. HRTC buses operating inter-state routes — including Chandigarh ↔ Haryana cities and Delhi ISBT ↔ Haryana cities — are tracked on the live map as long as the bus has an active ETIM device. Search for the route name (e.g. "DELHI TO ROHTAK") in the search box to filter.
-
No. Your location is processed entirely within your browser using the browser's built-in Geolocation API. It is used only to place the blue dot on your screen and zoom the map. It is never sent to any server, never logged, and never stored. Closing the tab or refreshing removes it completely.

ETIM stands for Electronic Ticketing Machine. It is a GPS-enabled handheld device used by conductors on Haryana Roadways buses. It issues digital tickets, records passenger counts, and transmits real-time GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, speed, heading) to the HR Transport central monitoring system, which is the data source for this live tracking map.
-
